He utilizes innovative techniques that result in less blood loss and post-operative pain, which allows for outpatient surgery, short hospital stays and faster recovery times. Whenever possible, Dr. Billinghurst performs motion preservation surgery, such as disc replacements, which may be associated with better long term outcomes, as compared to fusions. Dr. Billinghurst has extensive experience treating osteoporotic compression fractures with a minimally invasive technique called kyphoplasty in the outpatient setting. He prides himself on giving his patients the best chance to regain function and mobility, and return to active, healthy lifestyles. When non-operative care is appropriate, Dr. Billinghurst works closely with other healthcare providers, including physical therapists, physiatrists, and pain management specialists.
Dr. Billinghurst is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS).
