I have over 30 years of experience in the field and am happy to walk with you on your path as you develop and meet your goals. A little bit about me; I have a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from UW-Milwaukee, as well a Master’s in Social Work from the Loyola University of Chicago. I am licensed as a professional counselor (LPC), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), and an Independent Clinical Supervisor (ICS). I have worked in every setting imaginable from Regional Medical Centers, Hospitals, Community Centers, Residential Treatment Facilities, Weight Loss Centers, Mental health and/or Substance Abuse Clinics, Methadone Clinics, Schools, Prisons, Universities, and Colleges. My published research focused on “ism’s”. What it is like to be one person in a group of many people who are different from you on status; any status, e.g. race, gender, age, ability, sexual orientation, sexual identification, health status, etcetera. I have lectured nationally on the topic of the Psychology of women, as well as the stigma associated with Substance Use Disorders for women and for men. Over the years I have trained and specialized in multiple areas such as: gender-specific treatment for women, gender-specific treatment for men, filial therapy (a parent-child therapy), trauma-informed and trauma-specific treatments including responding to and managing chronic community violence, Criminality, Violence in Partnerships and Families, Gambling Use Disorder, a multitude of evidenced-based practices or treating Substance Use Disorders as well as Tobacco Cessation, Parenting as well as Co-Parenting for never married, divorced and/or blended families, reunification for estranged families working to reunite, and individuals and families involved in multiple systems. I have specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Biofeedback as well as Neurofeedback.
